CHACEWATER RES 2 V SENNEN 0
Sennen's time at the top of division one came to an end, after a 2-0 defeat at the hands of close rivals, and now new league leaders,chacewater..the game was played in fine conditions, and both teams contributed to a good match.. the only difference was,two fine strikes at goal which few goalkeepers would have got near.if any. despite an all round performance from glen marsden,we failed to show any of our true potential, and what few chances we had we did not take.
dave rowe played exceptionally well in goal, but it's a position that has to be resolved sooner than later,as our usual keeper matt jenkin seems work bound.
steve jones played on the flank but is in need of match practice to get him up to speed, but will be an asset when he's up and fit again.the 4-1-4-1 system we used worked well and chacewater had to work hard to break us down, and but for two great strikes was all the difference between us.
aaron had a quite game by his standards and the service to paul was less than effective.
paul angove was solid at the back.but the loss of matt jenkin, the keeper, made us shuffle the team around to compensate for his absence.ben worked tirelessly at the back colin was solid and jeb worked hard.matt lowe played well without excelling.phil butler started well but by half time was not going to re-appear after a dead leg put him out of the game.
so the question is how do we bounce back, after this defeat, hopefully it will give us back the desire to do well in our next few games, and put pressure back on chacewater, this is not a set back.but it does prove that we need to be on our game from the off..we need to be a lot more physical in our play
there's no doubt about the players we have, that on their day we can beat anyone in our league. but today was not our day,and chacewater who think as we probably did went out and made it their day
so next week we go to goonhavern looking to start again.......and so we shall.
team effort 6/10 two great strikes cost us. and we did not play as well as we could.
man of the match..glen marsden..played very well in the role he was given. well done.
